The Dutch pension sector is a leader in adopting the responsible investment guidelines. However, sustainable investing is not yet popular among the retail investors. In 2016, 6.8% of assets of retail investors were invested in truly sustainable products.
The number of retail sustainable funds increased by more than a half in the last three years despite limited demand from the investors. A significant part of this increase can be attributed to the new sustainable index funds.

The top position on the list of the best sustainable equity funds was taken by Delta Lloyd Equity Sustainable Global Fund which delivered a return in excess of the non-sustainable benchmark with the same level of risk. Moreover, the fund was also the least expensive option among the best funds. State Street and Vanguard took the second and third position on our Top 10 list.
