The disappearance of the fax in investment transactions in funds

For decades, transactions in stocks and bonds have been settled almost completely automatically (STP). Even for common OTC derivatives, platforms and providers are now available so that these transactions can also be settled more and more STP. However, when trading funds, we still encounter faxes.
