Publication on IEXProfs about the best global stock funds

In the last five years, the equity fund market has doubled in size, mainly attributable to the relative strong growth of passive investment funds.

Despite this strong growth, our top 10 only includes two passive funds. Other funds beat their passive competitors with strongly focused portfolios.

Just as in our top 10 of European large-cap funds last month, a low-volatility fund (State Street) is on top of our list. Runner-up, Goldman Sachs Global CORE Equity, uses its proprietary model for selecting stocks which utilizes multiple factors that are forecasting the returns on securities, a strategy that outperforms the benchmark by 2.5%. Most consistent performance is displayed by Robeco BP Global Premium Equities, which is also the only Dutch fund in this top 10. Morgan Stanley has the highest return, whereas iShares has the lowest costs.

The article is the fifth of the series of articles that will be published on IEXPRofs. The next article will present the top 10 global bond funds.
