The asset management sector in the Netherlands is shrinking, as is the wider financial sector as a whole. Consolidation and specialization are the main reasons for this, while automation has had little impact on the number of jobs. After a wave of takeovers of Dutch asset managers, the outsourcing of investment administration and related services will also have a major impact on the size of the domestic asset management sector.
